Default Report by (detail) Song title

Please advise how I can Generate a report in Song Title order.
I want to be able to have a listing of all songs in my catalog.
I need to know which CD that song appears on and who is the artist. I have exprted track data to an Excel WS but the transfer only executes one CD listing at a time and then only to one sheet. also the transfer does not pull the CD info wit it.

I have downloaded over 250 CD's Track info from CDDB, but I cannot get a report of all tracks. Thanks in advance Rballasi

Hello,

Have you tried the Reports...Music...Music Track Summary report?

That is the only report that will print out track data associated to its parent album data.

If it's data in the main area (top), i.e. not track data, you can setup your sorting and grouping options, then print directly from the data entry grid using the print preview icon on the toolbar.

Hope this helps.

I am amazed at the speed of your response. And I do appreciate it. However it does not help me. Yes I did generate a report from the Music drop down: Reports...Music...Music Track Summary report. This tags the songs to the CD but I need it the other way. Tracks to CD.

I am extremely diappointed that I cannot extract data in Tract order. Am I the first to request such a report.

Can all the data be exported to a relational data base that would allow me to create such a report. Everything I want is there it is a shame I cannot get it.

Is this a possible enhancement for future releases?

I have done a lot of work only to find that I cannot get a result that I expected.

Again Thanks for the speedy response RBALLASI

I'll add your requests for future updates. This has been requested and is on the list for a future version, however, I see what you are trying to do as well, and will see what I can make happen.

By the way, the good thing is that your data input doesn't change, you are cataloging your data, all we need to tweak are the reports and exports, so there should be no impact to you to continue using AVCataloger in the way you are now. I'll see if I can make some of these changes happen in the soon to be released maintenance update.

Can you give me an example of exactly what you want for this report? Do you want a listing of all TRACKS from ALL CD's in one spreadsheet style report? I'm not clear on exactly what you want.

I want the report to list all Tracks. Sorted by Title. Containing the minimum following line info:
TrackTitle, Artist, CD Album Title, Index

Take the 'A' Train Milt Jackson Patterns MCD-160
Take the 'A' Train Duke Ellington Duke's Greatest Hits MCD-159
Take the 'A' Train Louis Armstrong Louis at the Savoy MCD-122
Take the 'A' Train Ella Fitzgerald 'ELLA' MCD-215

This would be an example. The object is to be able to see a report of a particuliar Song title and know what you have in your calalog and where it is.

I appreciate your efforts and hope this helps

I too would be very interested in being able to print out a list of all my tracks sorted by Detail ( Song title ) as well as showing the Artist. This would allow as in Ron's example above, being able to see a song title and show next to each other how many versions by different artists we might have. Your program at present seems to focus on CD's or Albums rather than individual tracks. Some way of extracting by focusing on the tracks would be very useful.
Keep up the good work. Love your program. Expect will be purchasing it very soon. I'm still experimenting with it to see if it meets most of my expectations.

Roll Eyes Me too!!

Has this issue been addressed yet? The track summary is so close. All it needs is a field that shows the album title. I know it is in a header above the the data in the .xls export. The problem is that you can't sor the header. As soon as you run a sort, the info disappears.
