Unhappy IMDb Problems using Vista and AVC-3.8.2

I am having problems with the IMDb search function. I am on a Vista PC and using AVCataloger 3.8.2.
Here is the problem:
When I do a search it pops up the normal box of search results to choose from, but when I choose anything instead of filling in the data fields it returns an error in a popup box labeled "IMDb Site error" and the error says "There was a problem accessing the IMDb site. Please try again later"
After clicking "ok" on the error box I see that the IMDB search browser within AVCataloger now has two more tabs labeled "Browser[General]" and "Browser[Details]" both of which have an IMDb web page shown with a 'Page not found' message. The Details page shows alot of detailed information about the site that was not found: "GET /title/tt/maindetails HTTP/1.1 " and other info about cookies and such.
This is very frustrating as that is primarily how I enter new movie purchases into AVCataloger.
And yes, I already tried all the previous solutions, trusted site, disable firewall, etc...
Please let me know what I can do to resolve this.

Hi Richard,

I'm using Vista, shouldn't be a problem. I just did a search on IMDb for Top Gun and it worked fine. What are you searching for? I'll try to reproduce the issue if it's specific to a search term. Try Top Gun and see if it works for you.

It seems to do this for any search. In the case of Top Gun I got the popup box listing several IMDb matches to choose from, and I chose the (1986) entry, got the same error. Tried again with several other Top Gun choices and always the same error. But if i do the search in an external web browser all looks fine.
Could something be cached locally on my install of AVC that is causing this?
Let me know if you can suggest anything else.

I'll investigate the issue and see what I can find. Thanks for the report.

Hello,

I was able to reproduce the issue on Vista, however, I tried something else and the problem went away. Try clicking the "Options" button on the toolbar and Enable Filters. Set the filters up such as seen in the attached image and retry your search. See if this makes any difference.
