Default Sorting using more than 1 field doesn't work

I've just migrated my copy of AVCataloger (3.8.2) from a Windows XP Pro laptop to a new one, running Vista Ultimate 32-bit. I'm experiencing the same problem reported by dan72479 in his post dated 03/12/2008: when I try to sort the entries in any of the modules (software, books, etc.) by more than 1 field, the screen becomes "semi-transparent", and over it Vista shows a message that says "AVCataloger by NC Software has stopped working". Vista then shuts down AVCataloger. Any solution available?

Hello,

I'm unable to reproduce this but we are working on an update so I'll continue to test. Have you disabled User Account Control (UAC)? It is recommended to disable UAC for use of AVCataloger. You can do this in the User Accounts area of the Windows Control Panel. Reboot is required. You can also right-click on the AVCataloger.exe file (C:\Program Files\AVCataloger) and try setting the compatibility mode on it to Windows XP and see if that helps if the UAC disabling doesn't work for you.

Hi,

UAC is disabled (had to do it, in order to install version 3.8.2), but disabling it doesn't solve the problem.

I changed the compatibility mode to XP (as suggested), but this change also doesn't solve the problem.

Seems that I will have to wait for the upgrade.

Just to let you know: I have McAfee Total Protection installed in my laptop. I had to temporarily disable McAfee's Virus Protection (and Firewall) to install version 3.8, to upgrade from version 3.8 to 3.8.1 and to upgrade from 3.8.1 to 3.8.2.

I'm still having the same issue. As soon as I hit ok button, AV Cataloger crashes and is shut down.

Default Problem solved...

Hi dan72479,

It seems that the installation of the 3.9.2. update solves the problem.

Regards,
