Problems with iMDb imports - please help!!

Hi,

I've purchased AVCataloger this evening and have a problem with the title search from iMDb. I'm sureI typed the right titles (have checked it with the iMDB site), but I get the message "I'm sorry but there was no match found for the search criteria. Please try again". This I have tried with several titles and always the same message.

The CD import worked just fine, though.

Please help!!

Hello,

Please confirm you are using the latest version which is 3.2 and that you do not have the filters enabled. The items such as year criteria, are disabled.

Yes, I use 3.2 version and yes the filters year "from" and "to". "Search by" and "restrict to" are disabled, that is they are "grayed".

What titles are you typing in?

Is your computer using United States Regional Settings or another locale?

What browser version are you using?

Are you able to get returns on some entries and not others?

I have tried these titles (among others):
The sting
Godfather
Speed
Matewan
Braveheart

My computer was using locale setting, but I switched and tried to type the samme titles. All came in with the same message exept Matewan. On Matewan I got this message "Connection Presence:Yes The IMDb web site is not available at this time or there were difficulties with the connection. Please try again later or contact NC Software Tech Support by clicking the Online...Support Menu". At the same time Norton Internet Security came with an intrusion alert "HTTP_ActivePerl_Overflow from your machine against www.imdb.comwas detected and blocked". I checked that the IMDb web site was available with Internet Explorer, but I have for a long time received these intrusion alerts when I visit the IMDb site.

My browser is Internet Explorer 6.0.

And for the last question: No, all fail, but "Matewan" in different way.

I agree, for last 2-3 days it doesn't work for me either. The imdb website works OK though.
I used 3.0.0 version and did an upgrade today to 3.2- Istill can't find the movies via the programme.

So, I'm not the only one then. I'm almost glad to hear that! Made any changes the last 2-3 days, that could explaine the problem?

I have duplicated this issue and it's logged as a high priority bug. As soon as it's resolved I will release a maintenance update. Version 3.2.1 is now available which corrects the IMDb issue. IMDb changed their page/link structure and when this happens, as you saw, AVCataloger will not be able to find the data. Thanks all for reporting this.
