Posted in October 2004: [i]My original list from March 2002 was: 1. The ability to print simple VCR labels, both spine and main tape labels. Include some templates for the most common type labels. 2. The ability to scan data CDs. This function should be able to be selected on how deep in the tree to scan. Look at the program 'CD Label' for a very good example. 3. Customized reports to include what and where you want the info on the report. If done right this would eliminate the need for # 1 by letting you set up a simple report that would match whatever style label the individual had. Also include templates for the most common type labels (Avery, Neato, etc) The most common of these is # 2 and you always say 'next release'. I have also noticed you seem to think the only ones that may use this feature are people with MP3 collections. You couldn't be farther from the truth. I have an extensive library of software utilities, programs and even a few MP3s (that by the way are from my own 'Purchased' albums) that I would like to catalog. A simple scanning feature would do the trick. Like I said in my original post, check out CDLabel for an idea of what would be useful. As for the other requests, they still stand. I know, I know......'Next release'. Signed Still Waiting[i]</font> Well it's been almost 3 years and I'm STILL waiting! I know I'm not the only one to request these features. Judging by your responses to the many scanning requests, this one is a no go. So how about just the custom reports. And no, your current idea of custom reports doesn't cut it. The reports you have incorporated into the program are GREAT, EXCEPT we would like to be able to define what columns/fields are used. For instance, your video report with images is fantastic, EXECPT I can't define what fields (custom included) go on it and since my video collection is custom numbered and stored in that order I have to print two or three reports just for cross reference. Silly, when all it would take is to allow me to add or delete a few fields and BAM, one report that does everthing I need. If you can't do that, how about the ability to export the images with the data fields and we can use access (M-PITA) to write our own reports. In the mean time, I have noticed some custom fields but not all (usually check box values) do appear in your reports. What defines this? Can we change it? Any and all enlightenment would be appreciated. BTW, I'm not just here to complain, I really do like this program. It just gets frustrating when a program does almost everything you want except give you the output you need. Thank you for your time. Kerry Oh yea, I forgot to say Please! |

Hello, Thank you for your suggestions to this forum. Because they are suggestions and 'wish list' items does not in any way mean they will be implemented. We do listen to all customer feedback and when possible, implement suggestions when the time is right. There are also design specifications AVCataloger must fall within as it is not meant to be a 'do it all' solution but to be a 'Physical Media Cataloger' and expand on this functionality. As we move forward with the next major version, which will be version 4, we certainly will fold in all requests that fall within the objectives of the application. Thanks again for your feedback items. I am taking this opportunity to reply to ensure all posting to the wish list forum understand that your post here is only a 'suggestion' and by no means any promise that your suggestions will be part of the next update. Thank you.
