[NC Software]

NC Software announces a major update to Logbook Pro PC and PDA Companion Software products. Prior to updating your software create a backup of your data file (File..Archive..Backup) and disable anti-virus/anti-spyware applications to prevent interference with installs. Revisions in 1.9.9 are:

1. PDA Wizard no longer used, separate installers will be used for installing Logbook Pro Palm and Pocket PC Companion products (this is separate from APDL - please do not confuse the two PDA line of products)
2. With the PDA files removed from the PC core install, the new installer is now 7.5 MB less in size totally around 16 MB for the download
3. Brand new FAA 8710!!! A new interface allows you to fill in a form for your 8710 data, then Logbook Pro will calculate the times and allow you to print the complete FAA 8710 part III - no longer do you have to transfer data to the actual form.
4. FAR 121 Supplemental summaries added to FAR 121 Status Report (and should flow down to PDA - not yet tested on PDA)
5. New Registration System - Much simplified, combines PC and PDA registrations - one easy dialog!
6. Signature image can be used on Split Series reports. Rename a signature image (.jpg) to the same name as your data file and place in the same folder as your data file. For example, if you have C:\Logbook\LogbookProData.LBK, your signature image should be C:\Logbook\LogbookProData.JPG.
7. Currency Editor enhanced and provides additional layer of analysis. If either the ANY TO PASS or ALL TO PASS boxes are blank, the connector is set to OR to prevent currency calculation errors
8. Ability to show block time dialog, approach entry dialog, expense dialog "hands on keyboard" by pressing spacebar or enter key when on a "button" column in the Spreadsheet Log or in the data entry field in the Windows Style log
9. Options...Backup has a new checkbox to disable disk spanning. When creating a backup using removable media such as a pen drive or floppy disk, the backup system will prepare to span multiple disks and relabel the media. To avoid the relabeling, ensure this checkbox is checked to DISABLE relabeling (recommended). Ensure your removable media has at least 1 MB free, typical backups compress your data file to near 500 KB.
10. Fixed side NAV BAR color scheme issue reported (white background display setting)
11. Date Filter now remembers your last date filter setting
12. Data Structure Rebuild system improved and maintains all .OLD archives, fixed issue with status bar not disappearing after upgrade
13. PDA Companions do not need restart to change layout via Tools...Options (navigate away from screen then back to logbook screen to see changes now)
14. PDA Focus enhanced for devices such as Treo's
15. Menu shortcut duplicate found and corrected (Logbook/Lookback both had L assigned)
16. Time fields "widened" to allow larger values such as in counters and upper limits increased so as not to obstruct data entry in carry-overs
17. Background update checks now occur on program exit instead of program startup to eliminate delayed startups
18. Numerous other small enhancements throughout and to the PDA Companions - more to follow when released.

Download the PC version, Palm Companion, or Pocket PC Companion software to update your software to the latest version. After backing up your data files and sync'ing PDA's to the PC prior to upgrading your software, manually uninstall Logbook Pro from the Windows Control Panel Add/Remove programs area prior to installing the new versions.
