NC Software is proud to announce the release of Logbook Pro for Windows version
1.10.42. This is yet another
FREE update for all of our loyal Logbook Pro customers,
we have yet to charge for a single upgrade in over 11 years now! We are committed to quality and enjoy bringing you new and improved functionality without you having to pay for features you would expect in this proven and reliable software product.
If you are using version 1.10.36 or later, simply start Logbook Pro and click the
Help...Check Web for Updates option. FIRST though,
backup your data by clicking File..Archive..Backup and take note of where you are saving your .BAK file should you need to restore it later. If you are using a version
OLDER than 1.10.36 then simply uninstall Logbook Pro from your Windows Control Panel and then download the installer by
clicking here and installing the new version. Your
DATA and REGISTRATIONS are unaffected by reinstalls.
Revisions in your FREE update:- (Critical) Options..AutoFill may not save the changes made and cause AutoFill to not work as expected. The save logic has been redesigned so you must save AutoFill changes before switching to a different aircraft type to then configure its AutoFill settings. A new Save AutoFill button has been added to save when the changes are complete, however, you will also be prompted if you try to switch to another aircraft type or close the Options area when a save is required.
- Date format settings in the Options...Certificates/Ratings/History/Flight Log areas were not working properly in Vista and Windows 7. These selectors have been completely removed and replaced with properly functioning drop down selectors.
- Windows Style date picker did not use the format specified in the Options/Flight Log area
- Installer title and title in the Windows Control Panel changed from 1.10.3x to 1.10.x
- Clicking the + button on the bottom of the spreadsheet log area to add a new flight log entry could cause the previously entered entry to not be saved. Although clicking this + button is not required, simply clicking in the next row down to start a new entry causes a save, some did click this button and the problem existed.
- A flight log report that filled the exact number of rows in a log page would cause a complete page of empty rows to be added at the end of the report
- PDA Wizard had scenarios where if you checked the option on the bottom of the first wizard page to bypass the first page you could not get back to the starting page if you changed devices at a later date, i.e. Palm OS to Windows Mobile
- Reviewed the entire menu system adding helpful links such as direct access to the Schedule Importer, Backup to Web Portal, etc.
- Enhanced the menu system by bolding popular menu items to draw your attention to the higher priority options within the presented menu or sub-menu, i.e. Backup, or Split-Reports, etc.
- Binder transition system enhanced for the new high capacity Commander series binder
- Documentation updated as required such as Options...AutoFill functionality
- PDA Wizard...APDL Page now automatically chooses a default aircraft type by selecting the first aircraft in the list instead of prompting to choose a type. The type can be changed if the default option is not the correct a/c type desired.
- Password change system enhanced
- When showing the PDA Wizard and clicking the button on the lower left to activate licenses, previously you had to close and reopen the PDA Wizard to have the activations take effect. This is no longer required, activations will take effect immediately and allow syncing with the newly activated PDA system.
After updating to the latest version of Logbook Pro you may require a layout reset in the spreadsheet log area. This issue will appear if your log area is light gray in color or will not allow new data to be entered. This is not a critical issue, it just requires a simple reset layout to bring your layout up to date.
Click here for directions on how to perform the layout reset if needed.
